Life has a way of catching up to us. We get caught up in our busy lives and forget who we truly are: a radiant soul having a very human experience.
Experience an adventurous and joyful week in the US Virgin Islands for an exploration of yoga and the beautiful island of St. John. By connecting to our inner playful selves while being in community, we can shine a light on that radiant, blissful, and true self.
Through asana (movement), pranayama (breath), and meditation on top of hiking, swimming, and snorkeling, we will connect deeply to ourselves, one another, nature, and the universe beyond.

The Experience:
Each day will include yoga and an island adventure. Think hiking, swimming and snorkeling, and a boat trip to secret coves. There will also be a volunteer opportunity with Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park to give back to the island for holding us all week. This work will be active and outside, either planting native plants or clearing vegetation at local ruins.
In the morning, we will wake up to fresh coffee brewing and a light breakfast, then either engage in a fiery yoga asana practice and pranayama or go on a hike. Lunch will be enjoyed either at our villa or while on our island adventure.
The afternoons will be spent at the beach, on our boat trip, or exploring the town and island on your own. Evenings will be spent together, with dinner at the villa prepared by our chef or out listening to local Caribbean music. We will wind down our night together in slow flow yoga and meditation.
This all genders retreat is about returning to our true selves: one who is radiant, loving, compassionate, peaceful and full of joy & BLISS. Through yoga and exploring the island, we will explore our minds, bodies, and souls while learning how to fully trust, nourish, and let go to joy, fun, and adventure.
Accommodations:
We will be staying at a luxurious villa on St. John, on the quiet side of the island with only the frogs as our nighttime background noise. With a hot tub and a private pool overlooking Coral Bay and plenty of spaces to lounge both inside and outdoors, unwind in this tropical paradise.
Amenities
Solar panels line the roof in the case of power outages, common on a small island. All rooms have their own private balcony. High speed Wi-Fi is throughout the villa. There is a washer and dryer, no need to stress about bringing enough clothes! There is also a variety of games, from corn hole to ping pong. The yoga deck has gorgeous views of the water and neighboring islands.
Meals
We will be joined by Amy Bonitz as our private chef, who will be nourishing our bodies and souls. Amy is a seasoned retreat host and has a special gift for pairing our meals with each daily activity: knowing exactly what we need before we do. All food will be healthy and light to support our yoga practice while filling and energizing. All meals are included besides one lunch and one dinner out. No alcohol will be served at the villa.

Meet your Host: Eliza Kuchuk
Facilitator & Yoga Teacher
Eliza is a 500 hour registered yoga teacher who aims to create a sense of ease and compassion in each and every practice. Deeply inspired by the ancient teachings and texts of yoga, she loves to weave in philosophy, mantra, energetics, and pranayama with the physical asanas of yoga. Professionally, her work experiences ranges from youth mental health to outdoor adventure, and through this unique combination she continues to lead others through their own sacred journeys.
As a former resident of St. John, Eliza loves showing others the island that she knows and loves. While living on St. John, she spent a significant amount of time volunteering with Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park and leading tours on public boat charters. Because of these two experiences, she has extensive knowledge of the island’s history, flora and fauna, and the best places to visit.
She is known for empowering those in her yoga class to listen to their bodies, and through this approach she guides others to find freedom in the practice and trust themselves.
At this retreat, Eliza is excited to guide others throughout the yoga practice and island adventures while inviting them to come back to their true selves through the yoga practice, one that is radiant, compassion, and full of joy and BLISS.
About St. John:
St. John is a part of the US Virgin Islands (passport not required!) and is home of the Virgin Islands National Park. The island is 2/3 protected and is home to some of the most beautiful beach in the world. With stunning turquoise blue waters and a rich history, St. John will be the perfect stage to dive deep into our hearts and souls to experience a state of bliss.
While on retreat, we will also be learning about the history of the island that includes slavery during Danish colonization. There are several ruins of plantations, which we will be exploring and honoring this difficult history of the island. While we are grateful for the pristine beaches and trails that the National Park protects, the US government presence is complicated with the locals. There will be opportunities throughout the retreat to acknowledge the island through this complex and historical lens while also being grateful to the beautiful island for holding us throughout our beautiful retreat experience.
There is no airport on this tranquil island, but it’s a mere 7-minute ferry ride from St. Thomas which is home to the largest airport in the Virgin Islands. Traveling to St. John is a breeze, and you will be supported every step of the way!
A typical day at the Island Bliss Retreat
7:30 am: Coffee, Tea, and a light breakfast
8 am: Flow & Pranayama OR Hike & Meditation
11 am: Brunch
12 pm: Beach for an afternoon of sun, sea, & snorkeling
4 pm: Return to villa & free time
6:30 pm: Dinner
8:00 pm: Slow Flow & Meditation
There will also be a boat trip, volunteer morning with Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park, and an evening out listening to local Caribbean music. Two afternoons will be free for your own personal exploration of the island or shopping in town. Shuttles will be arranged to help support transportation. During this free time, there will also be optional wellness add-ons with local massage and reiki practitioners at the villa.

This retreat is inclusive of all genders and is for anyone who has a desire to explore the deeper teachings of yoga, adventure around the island of St. John, and connect with others.

This retreat is designed to nourish our bodies, minds, and souls. All meals will be healthy and mostly vegetarian and/or pescatarian with the exception of eggs. Drinks will include juices made from local fruits as well as coffee and tea. No alcohol will be served at the villa.

Nope! While some knowledge and experience in yoga will be helpful, you do not need to have an advanced practice. When we practice asana (physical postures) there will always be modifications and options.

November is still summer in the Caribbean, so it’s perfect for those who aren’t quite ready to settle into winter or are looking for some sunshine and sea. It is also the rainy season, so there will be sudden rain showers that end just as quickly as they started, with sunshine and rainbows as a reward.

All flights will land in St. Thomas, and from there you will take a private taxi to Red Hook Ferry Terminal with our retreat group. It’s just a 7 minute ferry ride to St. John! Once you arrive, we will pick you up and whisk you away to the villa.
